Appointment Prep
Thank you so much for trusting me with your tattoo. Tattooing is such a personal act so it is my honor to be able to help you through this process. Whether it is your very first tattoo on a blank canvas or the last touch on a full body of work, I am grateful to be part of your tattoo story. Here are some things to know before we get started.
I want you to be as comfortable as possible through an uncomfortable process.
Tattoos, to some degree or another, hurt. It can be a very uncomfortable process whether that is mentally, physically, or both. I am here to help you through the experience. You are in complete control in my chair. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns throughout the entirety of the session, please let me know. These are some things to note prior to the process…
Comfort, Hydration, and Food is key
Make sure you wear something comfortable yet offers easy access to the location of your future tattoo. Something loose that won’t irritate or touch the effected area is ideal. Please let me know if you have any questions about what would be suitable to wear for the specific location you are getting tattooed.
The best way to ensure that this process goes smoothly is to eat and drink plenty of water beforehand. Hydration is the best way to feel as healthy as possible and a large meal is your friend! Your body will thank you. You’re getting a tattoo which is pretty awesome, you deserve it!
If you enjoy your workouts, please do so beforehand as you will have to refrain from working out for the next 3-4 days.
Please, No Drinking
Please refrain from drinking alcohol the night before your appointment. Alcohol is a blood thinner which makes the entire process more uncomfortable and more difficult. You will bleed more and therefore, your skin will want to accept the ink less. It might even require you to reschedule your appointment. Toast yourself after your appointment! but please not before.
Mental Comfort = Physical Comfort
Do what you need to do to feel comfortable during your appointment. Consider bringing headphones or a book if that is what is best for you. Download movies, music, or tv shows. If you are happy just sitting quietly and enjoying the process that is okay too. If talking is what keeps you distracted, then great! There is nothing I love more than good conversation. Whatever keeps you distracted and happy through the process.
